Capiz State University is a
public university located in Roxas City, Capiz, Philippines. Capiz State
University has a former name called Panay State Polytechnic College. In
2004, Panay State Polytechnic College converted into Capiz State
University by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo at the Capiz Provincial
Capitol, Roxas City, Capiz, Philippines.
Capiz State University State
University has ten campuses in two districts. There are Roxas City Main Campus,
Dayao Campus, Pontevedra Campus, and Pilar Campus that are located in the first
district. In the second district, there are Poblacion Mambusao Campus, Burias
Campus, Sapian Campus, Dumarao Campus, Sigma Campus, and Tapaz Campus.

1. 2 Academic Support System
Pilar Elementary School is a
complete elementary school located at Brgy. Publacion, Pilar, Capiz. It is the
oldest school in the municipality founded in 1916. It stands on a six-hectare
lot donated by seventeen (17) donors to DepED. The school is categorized as
large school in the district of Pilar in terms of the large number of enrolment
number of teacher and area.
The school is headed by a
Principal II, with thirty-eight (38) competent faculty members, six (6) Master
Teacher II, four (4) Master Teacher I, fourteen (14) Teacher III, three (3)
Teacher II, eleven (11) Teacher I. There are two (2) Administrative Assistants
( ADAS ).
The schools has offered
special programs. First, Special Science Class ( SSC ) that starts from Grade 1
to Grade 6. This program is for scientifically inclined and gifted learners in
adherence and response to the increasing demand for scientific knowledge,
theories and skills to be applied this modern era of robotics and super
scientific gadgets. The group of learners is exposed to advance Science and
Mathematics instructions.
Second, Special Program
for Journalism ( SPJ ). This program enhances learners' journalistic skills and
competencies of learner-writers and to strengthen free and responsible
journalism, this program is likewise, designed to develop learners' skill in
mass communication, print, online and broadcast media. It is expected that the
group of learners undergoing this program will be able to demonstrate
understanding of the basic principles and journalism, its practices and
techniques and responsibly applies them as a tools for effective communication
and information.
Third, Special Program for the Arts ( SPA ). This program will hone the skills of learners to become excellent young artist with aesthetic potential and renewed spirituality committed to the preservation of Filipino culture and heritage.
Fourth, Program of Special Education ( SPED ). This program is for learner who has special needs. The program has to provide the child an opportunity to learn in the least restrictive environment so they can ultimately thrive to the best of their ability when transmitted to adulthood. The program aims to develop the maximum potential of the child with special needs to enable him/her to become self-reliant and shall be geared towards providing him/her with the opportunities for a full and happy life.
